Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona

The Grand Canyon cuts through the Southern slope of the Kaibab Plateau in Arizona. The Canyon floor and the Colorado River are close to 5,700 feet below the North Rim and 4,500 feet below the South Rom. The elevation varies from 8,200 feet on the North Rim to 7,000 feet at the South Rim. The Canyon is a geological wonder stretching 280 miles from Lees Ferry to the Grand Wash Cliffs. All of these images were shot in the fall from the South Rim 2012 and 2013. When I was there in the fall of 2012, much of the canyon was filled with smoke from a fire on the North Rim.
